Be Ready To Accept
In last week's newsletter you learned about why it's important
to ask questions and to ask for what you want in life.
But almost of equal importance is that you must be ready to
accept what comes your way. If you ask a question you must
listen to the answer and use the knowledge you gain.
And you must be ready and open to accept all the opportunities
that are presented to you each and every day.
I don't want to get personal here but have you ever known one
of those people who, no matter how much you praise and
compliment them, always twist it around to make it seem like
you've just insulted them?
You know, you praise someone on a diet for losing weight and
they snap back "You saying I looked fat before?"
Or when you are complimentary about their new haircut it's not
"Thank you", but " So you think I looked dumb before, huh?"
I could go on....
But the point is these people are just not receptive because
they have an inner negativity that stops them accepting that
life can be good.
Don't be like them. Instead be positive in your outlook and
gracious in acceptance of compliments and praise.
And this is important because once you start to receive
graciously, the way people approach you is gonna change for
the better.
It's also vital if you truly want to see yourself develop
the way you want. There is a world of opportunity out there
just waiting for you but only by opening up your mind and
being ready to accept will you reap the benefit.
So remain open and seek out opportunities and when obstacles
are put in front of you see them as opportunities and ask how
you can benefit. Then accept what you learn and act upon it.
Be prepared to learn new skills, take on new challenges, and
be ready to accept change.
The article below explores why sometimes accepting change is
difficult. Reading it should help to set you up for all of
life's opportunities.

The Real Reason You Find It Difficult To Make Personal Change
By Steve Bentham
It's a common occurrence. You want to change your life, but you
find that the thought of changing things fills you with dread.
You want to change things and yet you don't want to change
things because you like your comfort zone too much. Here's how
to look at that comfort zone in a way that makes it much easier
to leave.
The first thing we need to do is ask ourselves why we don't
want to leave that comfort zone. The answer seems easy. We
don't want to leave the comfort zone because it's exactly that
-a place where we feel comfortable. But is it such a simple
matter? On the surface the answer seems to be "yes". But if we
dig a little deeper, we find that the answer isn't so simple
after all. Here's why.
If you have a comfortable pair of shoes, why do you like to
wear them? Easy. Because they are comfortable. And how do you
know they are comfortable. Because they don't cause you any
pain. And the absence of pain or discomfort means you don't
notice them. It's the fact that you don’t notice them that you
call those shoes "comfortable".
This is a key point. The fact is that when something is
comfortable, we usually don't notice it. So we have to ask
ourselves why we notice our comfort zone if it's so
comfortable. Just as we're happy to wear those comfortable
shoes without noticing them, if our comfort zone actually was
so comfortable, we would be happy living in it and wouldn't
notice it all. The very fact that we do notice it means that
the "comfort zone" is actually no comfort zone at all. It’s
actually a discomfort zone--and that's why we notice it, and
want to leave it.
It could be a discomfort zone for various reasons, including
simple boredom with the present situation, but no matter the
reasons a discomfort zone is what it really is. Once we
realize this and rename it a "discomfort zone" we can
understand that we have to leave it, and can make plans to
do just that. How to become motivated to leave your discomfort
zone is something you’ll find lots of information about on
www.inspirationinsights.com.
You have to accept that until you acknowledge that the present
situation is actually making you feel unfulfilled or just
plain unhappy, you're unlikely to make any effort to leave it.
That's why it's essential to see the comfort zone for what it
is--not a comfort zone at all. Then you can work on making real
changes in your life--and changes for the better at that.

Factors That Determine Your Personal Goals
To move forward in life it is important that you have solid
achieveable goals. But setting them is not always easy.
One of the big problems is that you often don't really know
the true motivation for them. You need to understand what it
is you want to achieve and why.
So there are many factors that can be the real reasons for
your goals in life.
Here are some of the things that you may need to consider in
setting your own:
- Your need to feel a sense of achievement.
- A desire for recognition for good work.
- A new challenge to make you more fulfilled.
- A desire for personal growth.
- A need for financial freedom.
- Your longing to have more time to do the things you enjoy.
- Greater responsibilty.
- The start of a new career.
- A need to improve your health.
Or it could be simply to be happy.
Whatever your reason you need to focus on it before you can
begin to make the changes and take the steps forward to the
life you want to live.
